Email is one of the most effective forms of communication, with studies showing we prefer organizations to communicate via email more than social media, direct mail, and mobile apps. But email communication is only truly effective if we are sending the right messages at the right time.
On this episode, we are discussing the solution to this problem: email automation. Joining us is Kenny Jahng, who has too many awesome job titles to sum up all that he does, but basically he is one of the true gurus in church communications. One of his more recent projects was creating and launching Church Butler, a social media resource and training service for churches.

There’s an old saying in advertising and communications: When you try to reach everyone, you reach no one. Of course, this sounds like a terrible thing to say on a ministry podcast because the Gospel and the Church are for everyone! But don’t worry, both sentiments can be, and in fact are, true.
On this episode of the MyCom Church Marketing Podcast, we are tackling the topic of audiences and how we can say the right things to the right people. Joining us for today’s episode is Laura Buchanan, the Senior Creative Content Specialist at United Methodist Communications.

We all want to get our message across — especially when we are communicating on behalf of the Church. The power of words can be amplified or undermined by the very letterforms that make up those words. Variables like font size and even line spacing may make the difference between encouraging readers to skim or skip it altogether.
On this episode of the MyCom Church Marketing Podcast, class is in session for Typography 101. We are joined today by Troy Dossett, the in-house graphic designer at United Methodist Communications.

In January 2018, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced a refocused vision for the social media giant, writing, “One of our big focus areas for 2018 is making sure the time we all spend on Facebook is time well spent.”
The practical changes Facebook is implementing to work toward this vision will have a big impact on those of us who do ministry on the platform, so in this episode of the MyCom Church Marketing Podcast, we will walk you through what’s changing and offer some ideas about how to adapt.
